I understand the most common front tire is a 215/40/17.
will a 205/45/17 fit with stock strut. the 205/45 stands about a half inch
taller. looks like it will fit but very close.
anyone useing 205/45/17 with stock strut/perch.
if so, please indicate rim width and offset.

I had 215/45/17 on my stock perch. it only rubbed the fender well when i turned the wheel all the way. so id imagine that the 205/45/17 would work. why not just get 215/40/17? its wider

my opinion is that a 205 high grip tire up front on an mr2 is plenty of tire.
i want a taller/more sidewall tire up front to more equally match the height
of the rear to level the car...and to minimize bump steer making the car more
compliant on public roads. i'm running Eibach sportlines with konis.
i am surpised 215/45 cleared the spring purch? i guess the 205/45 will work.
