I agree that a 2gr is an amazing motor, but I think there is untapped potential in the 1uz and sound of a V8 back can be worth it on that alone. As I see it is basically a 1mz block and heads with 2 more cylinders. They have almost identical cam specs and compression ratios. They both are pig rich under WOT. The 1uz they have done over and over again cams and have gone shimless buckets like the v6 and even 3sgte guys. The engine is just so overbuild and only 4.0L that they throw some twin turbos on them and call it a day.Lil confused.
1st let me say that I am not being negative or bashing. I love the work you are doing as well as your balls and skill. You commented that the ecu was fine when new but better ones are out there now. Agreed. The engine is also outdated. The are V6s out now, 2gr, that make more power and probably as much torque. Why go the 1uz route? Its big heavy and doesnt make that much power by todays standards. Keep in mind that I want to bud a 4agte instead of going more modern.
I haven't mess whit the Toyota shifter cables yet, they need to be custom I believe, Am not sure if the Toyota shifter is up to the task , the Fiero shifter its proven to work, I may used if the Toyota don't work,How are you making the F40 work with the Toyota master cylinder and shifter cables?
Also, how are you getting around the axle-subframe clearance issues? mainly the left axle tulip hitting the lower control arm.
