Hello, new MR2 owner here. My MR2 is in pretty rough shape but I plan on restoring it and probably adding some power.
The MR2 is essentially stock aside from a boost gauge and a non-functioning afr gauge. It is also missing or worn/broken parts like some interior trim, fog lights, etc.

Here are some questions that I would like to put out there:
- It doesn't have the original engine but it's still a 3sgte. Any idea what revision it is?
- There is a switch on the ECU, what does it do?
- Any recommendations on what I should put on the to-do list?

That's a JDM gen2 engine. The switch is probably for a different tune, ATS racing uses a switch similar to that for race gas and 93 octane on their ROM tuned ECU.

That ECU is the stock ECU for a Revision 2 JDM 3SGTE. This engine and car has quite some wiring changes over the Revision 1 JDM stuff.

The engine is still a Revision 2 JDM engine based on the throttle body and that black intake manifold brace. What makes you say it's not the stock engine?

It's a stock engine but it's not the original engine. The PO said the original engine blew up and he put in another one.
