    At this point the SW20s are classic cars. I don't see any reason to try and chase after modern performance cars. If that's what you want get a C8, it'll be cheaper and be faster than many supercars. Turn up the boost a little on the 3S-GTE, replace the turbo with something that doesn't choke...

    Are you holding fuel pressure when the engine dies? Any signs of ECU trouble like lit CEL with no codes when you jump the diagnostic connector? These ECUs are known to have bad capacitors after 25 years, it's not too hard to remove the ECU and open it up. If you see any signs of bad capacitors...

    There is a lot of maintenance just from a casual look at that. I would focus on getting the car running right and learning to drive before anything else. Don't be the guy that goes off the side of the local hill trying to impress your friends.

    I don't recommend decatting a car no matter the circumstance, even rally cars are catted. These engines have fixed valve timing and run extremely rich on boost to protect the engine, raw fuel in exhaust stings the eyes and the lungs.

    OE sealed beams are pretty terrible IMO. You can get plug and play DOT compliant LED or H4 halogen headlights that improve night time visibility a lot. I just put the sealed beams in a box in case anyone ever wants them on resale.

    That pretty much sums it up, I would be extremely careful with parts selection, internal combustion engines are frankly incredibly delicate things when you start getting into the guts of them.

    I got a set of these lights from Walmart and I would say after a few months this is well worth it. If you have deep pockets maybe the JW speaker is better but this is miles better than the sealed beams it came with.

    Somehow this broke and I'm trying to find a replacement. The RH/passenger side is still available from Toyota but the LH is discontinued.

    If the red oil light came on multiple times and it was not a false positive I would do an oil change immediately and start budgeting for a rebuild.

    The OEM leather is cheap stuff, just get it re-wrapped. Craft Customs is supposedly pretty good, on the LS400 forums people send their steering wheels out to them to get the wood + leather restored.

    Is your flywheel stock and in good condition? Lightweight flywheels can cause these kinds of rattles.

    Verify the noise is coming from the transmission. It may not be, I can tell you the MR2 Turbo I've driven with 50k miles on the odo and 100% stock noticeably rattles at cold start. My LS400 also has a bit of a rattle at cold start. If it goes away as the car warms up it's probably fine.

    It does depend but my intent has always been to build a street car first so the goal is to have OEM driveability and reliability. I'm ok with only running a CT27 at 1 bar of boost, etc...

    Did AEM ever figure out how to do long term learning features on their ECU? The Haltech Elite ECUs are a little more interesting for that reason.

    Last I checked the plug-in Link G4 doesn't have knock control which in my book is an instant no-go. Is there anything else on the market that is actually good and has a plug and play adapter?

    MR2 Heaven has xenons with harness so you're good to go on that end, I'm just lazy and don't feel like touching the harness in any way. Another option is the Hella e-codes.
