  1. Jdm engine export screwed me, help please

    3SGTE Turbo
I’d be worried a bit about what looks like mushrooming around that hole. Is it even flush with the rest of the block?
  2. Jdm engine export screwed me, help please

That looks like a bit more than a stud snapping though... I mean there are clear marks like someone was banging on it. I have no idea why someone would do that for either removing or repairing so I'm a bit confused. If the stud was simply snapped, sure no biggie, but wtf even happened there.

It really depends on a lot of factors, I have been wanting to move up to Minnesota as my family is there, but since I have a house where I am now and was pretty settled, I never really felt like it was a good time. If I'm going to be selling the house, and with some other things changing, I...

Haha yeah, definitely a money pit. I think I have the same amount in dollars worth of parts installed on it as I bought the car for. Unfortunately I have extremely high standards and prefer to do the work myself when specialized and very expensive tools are not needed (i.e. machine shop and...

Well I plan to stick with stock boost and basically stock power. My goal is reliability. However the engine feels weak. When boost comes on I don't really feel much extra power. As far as I can tell everything looks fine, no vacuum leaks, no major oil leaks. As mentioned in another thread, I do...

Okay time to get back on track. Unfortunately I have some major life changing news the other week (all is good) so I am going to have to make a few sacrifices. I will most likely be selling my house in the next 6-8 months and may be moving across the country in the next 1-1.5 years. Still a lot...
  9. 91 Turbo front/rear cooling pipe replacement

    MKII, 90-99 NA & Turbo
I wouldn't be able to live with myself leaving the stock ones in place and just running new ones under the tank... however that is definitely the easiest (and cheapest) way to do it haha.

Might be worth throwing in a walbro fuel pump, all new fuel lines (they are cheap to replace) while the tank is out. The walbros are super cheap and makes sense to get rid of the stock one.

Just keep in mind that the capacitors do not need to look bad to be bad. The C810 I pulled out looked brand new and shiny, but was definitely dead.
  12. 91 Turbo front/rear cooling pipe replacement

    MKII, 90-99 NA & Turbo
Is the leak the rubber hoses or the hard pipe? If it is the hard pipe is it the radiator one that runs below the fuel tank or the heater core ones that run above the fuel tank? The radiator hard lines and rubber hoses are pretty easy to replace. The heater core hard line is above the fuel tank...

Sounds a lot like the ECU. Might even have been created when the caps were replaced. The fact that it will run fine some of the time, but other times not at all sounds electrical. Hard to diagnose over the internet though.

Have you replaced your capacitors? Mine had issues starting, keeping a stable idle, and would die if I didn't keep the idle up myself. The ECU will not show a fault for this.

I love your current ride height, to each their own but I say keep it like that if you will be daily driving this, or don't want to have lots of clearance issues. I also noticed that the rear subframes are always beat up on these MR2s so might be a problem if you go much lower. Looks great though!

For anyone interested, that CRW Solid Roller Clutch Pedal Clevis Kit is ah-maz-ing. Clutch pedal never felt so good. You do need to drill out the hole where the bearing goes so there is a bit of work involved - all worth it.

Hmm I definitely did not put a seal like that on the IC. Although when I look up into it from the side vent, it is so tight against it I can't imagine any air going around it. I have to pull it all out again to fix the dang wire from the AC compressor that broke while disconnecting it so I could...
