how to post an mr2 for sale??

I am a new member. I'm having trouble figuring out how to post an MR2 for sales with pictures??? I was able to post a note but could only add a pic (thumnail) of size 24K.. (I see other cars listed with 8-10 high quality pics???)
I'm not sure where the cars for sale are to be listed??

If you could please help..

Bill Strong oh. and I refuse to use those "reply here to get approved by my firewall" replies. I don't have time to deal with those complicated requirements. So if they don't get my email, then can clearly see who to email at the bottom of all the pages of this website.

Bill Strong This has helped in a huge way at getting the new members approved and my helping filter out unwanted spammers and such.
The emails I get are a trip too. most are really funny!
some are a cry for help, which I can quickly point them to where they need to go.
I also send them a nice reply and welcome email that points out a few things. I like the more personalized contact.
I know there are other ways at doing this. But I prefer this way.

Bill Strong most likely has something to do with Yahoo! who owns and provides the email services of

I get a lot of spam catcher replies that require me to go through a process to verify that I am not a spammer. I don't do them. Too much work.

November 13th, 2011 22:47
neemo6 Ya i had the same problem registering, i actually thought the site was just down. Never got an email notification and had to email the Admin directly here. I know of a handful of people who also tried to register and just gave up for the same reason.

TySaxon Bill,

I have a local customer that recently purchased a rolling shell and some parts off of me. He has been building quite the mr2 over the past few months and each time he stops in to get a part or ask a few questions, i always ask why he hasn't registered on the board here. He said he's tried two different times over the past months and it always says its under review i guess. Is there anyway i can vouch for him and get him approved or something?

willtotheumm Way to go Bill
November 14th, 2009 11:35
Bill Strong oh, and if they are not approved, they are NOT notified of this.
I will also not be doing any "email verification" crap so I can send something to you so it gets past your firewall/spam crap.

sorry, I just don't have time to do this.

New email notification for new members in place

The following is sent to the new members... they MUST follow the instructions. This has been in place now since January and is working really well.

Dear New Guy,

Thank you for registering for the forums. There are a few things that must be completed before we can activate your account.

1. Please click this link to verify your email address - - this will take you to a page that will give you a lot of warnings in red. But don't worry, it worked if you see the warnings. If you view the forum home page at this point you will see zero posts and threads. That is because #2 is not yet completed.

2. Send an email to [email protected] with New Member in the subject line. Tell me that you want to join the MR2OC. Say hi to me. Just prove to me that you are not a BOT or a spammer. Simple.

3. Now the MR2OC Admin will have to approve your account. This can take upwards of 72 hours to complete, but is normally completed within 24 hours. We manually websearch your username, IP address and / or your email address to verify that you are not a spammer or a scammer. If any deragitory information is found, your account will not be approved. You will not be notified if you are not approved. We do this because there are a huge number of spam-bots that try to sign up and sell our membership unusual products.

4. If after one month you have failed to follow the simple instructions above I will delete your account. Due to the HUGE amount of spammers and bot attacks I have had to implement these manual processes to ensure the safety of the MR2OC. Thank you for understanding.

Thanks very much,

I have replaced the text in the email notification to add the extra steps I have in place now for all new members.
All new accounts are manually checked using the IP, user name and email address. If anything, and I mean anything, shows up bad, they will not be approved. This has proved pretty damn good at stopping the spam-bots. I am getting almost 10 or so spam-bots that sign up daily. I also am not allowing any .ru email addresses to sign up as 99.9% of them are bots.

There is automatic software that can do this, but it is still not very good. Nothing is better than me finding that someone ripped off another board 2 years ago... or you are spamming the crap out of the Internet trying to sell "bigger, harder, faster" pills.

Pass this onto your friends that try and sign up. Final approval can take upwards of 72 hours, but usually I have them done in 24 hours. Weekends are a little slower as I don't drink and approve
