464whp @ 26 PSI, GTX3067

Just got my results back from ATS so I figured I'd share with everyone. Still haven't got to drive her yet but I'm VERY excited.

Low power is BC off on E73 about 14psi, and high is 26psi on the same fuel.

Build:
- ATS 2.3L 5S with ATS 87.5mm Wiseco pistons with HD piston upgrade and stage 3 wrist pins
- ACL Race Bearings
- ATS Block fill
- BC Rods
- ECU Master with Flex Fuel (Tuned by Scott [email protected] ATS)
- ATS CV Joints/ Axle Cages
- ATS Clutch Masters Stage 4 Kit
- L19 Head Studs
- MLS Headgasket
- ATS Garrett GTX3067
- HUX Racing Intake Manifold
- Wolfkatz Top Feed with ATS 1200's
- Walbro 255
- HKS Adjustable Cam Gears
- HKS 272's Cams
- Greddy Power Extreme
- Greddy SMIC
- Custom Intake
- Ferrea oversized valves with Titanium valve springs.

I went overkill on the block just in case I decide to keep going for more power. I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff but you guys get the idea.

200 ft lbs at 2,800 RPM. Very nice. You should post pics of your car and motor. Mind me asking how much you have in the motor/build. Congratulations.

Thanks guys!

Including the purchase of the car I'm in about 23-25k, but I really got a smokin deal on her when I bought her.

Didn't get a final picture of the motor before it was put in the car and the one installed pic was during installation so no intake, but here ya go duck...

Impressed! I've seen a lot of MR2 dynos and I gotta say they did this thing right man, very nice job. To have that kind of spool and still be in the mid-high 400's is incredible to me. It looks like an even larger turbo would fill in your top end but probably wouldn't' be worth the slower spool for a street car imo. This thing should be wicked!

What's your compression ratio?

Very nice graphs!

We're the cams degreed to spec, or adjusted on the dyno? What were the finals cam gear settings?
I only ask because i'd expect the torque curve to remain flatter towards redline with 272's and not drop as much.
Your retaining roughly only 63% of peak torque at redline during the 26psi plot and 69% on the 14psi plot.
.63 turbine housing right?

Very wide powerband though, lots of area under the curve. should be wicked fun on the streets. Congrats!

I don't have the compression numbers or cam settings as I really haven't talked to Scott about that stuff yet. I guess I kind of jumped the gun by posting the dyno but couldn't hold back my excitement haha. Once I have that information for you guys I'll let you know/update this post.

Cams were adjusted on the dyno during tuning. From what Scott was telling me, we could have gone for higher numbers and pushed harder but wanted to keep it as safe as possible. Because we were making such great power anyway he decided not to push it, which I'm completely fine with seeing I'm near the limits of the GTX3067.

I'm at about 80% duty cycle.

EDIT:

Compression can't be verified as no head work was done at the shop but it should be around 8.5:1.

Cams: Exhaust is about -6 and Intake is 0.

Just wondering why you went with the gtx3067 and not something like a gtx3076 or bigger?

Thanks duck!

I had a TD06 about 2 years ago and I couldn't deal with the lag. So I swapped out to a GTX3067 (2 years ago) with no thought of ever doing a 2.3L 5s.

I'm aware that I kind of worked backwards on this but I think it actually ended up working out.

My goal is to sit on this for a few years and then decide if I want to keep going for more power.

Yeah!!! enjoy it for a few years. Your ride should be SUPER FUN for a long time. Any plans on taking it to the track maybe see what she'll do in a 1/4 mile?

Not sure when it will happen but yeah she will get a few runs in at some point. Really curious what kind of numbers I'll get out of her.

Awesome looking dyno chart! I'd love so much to have a build like that.

Do you plan on running the E73 all the time or is it also tuned for straight gas?

I'll be running e? all the time. Although I did drive her back on 91 octane and she still pulls like crazy.

Arizona has moved away from e85 and transitioned to "ethanol flex fuel" it is testing around 50-75% at the pump.

I'll either be getting jugs or possibly a drum of e98 to increase the ethanol percentage.

Looking at your engine bay, it looks like there's some kind of apparatus in place of your coolant cap. Am I seeing things or what is that?

I was wondering the same thing! Nice looking bay. No way that'd pass any kind of inspection here in CALI.

Hey guys,

Just figured I'd give a quick update.

Car has been running great and she has been my daily since I got her back. I'm averaging about 13mpg on Ethanol/Flex fuel and I've had no heat issues even with a block fill and the temps getting up to 120 in Phoenix.

It's easy to drive and power is always ready to go.

It can go from a nice calm drive to being vicious and spool is ridiculously fast. It's almost impossible for me to stay out of boost.
Sang and pcdevine like this.

Thanks for your update. What is your tire set up and suspension ? Traction issue ?>

Why are you only getting 13mpg on E85?

I have 18x9 in the back with BF Goodrich GForce Comps with Koni yellows and eibach sport kit. They're actually pretty sticky and traction hasn't been an issue. Only time it becomes one is when I forget how much power I make and get a little too aggressive on a turn/u-turn.

I get 13mpg because I run 1200 injectors and it's not tuned for economy. I get about 20mpg on 91 octane, but it's rarely in the there unless I'm going on a long drive and ethanol isn't available.
