Tanayburgring. MR2 story of Iori Suzuki

RGT-603 was totaled in the accident which tragically claimed Iori’s life on July 26, 2015, during the 2015 Tänaybürgring. However, it’s not like I don’t have any photos I could work with now, and I can still write. What follows is the story of Iori and his MR2, based on my own accounts and that of others...That’s the thing about Iori. He was always looking to improve not just his own standing, but that of everyone else around him as well. He did this in various ways, like organizing one of the biggest, most exciting driving events in the country. Or creating a service to provide Philippine customers with car parts from Japan with reasonable speed and pricing."

2014 mr2 doing the 'ring. looks like a free for all day in Germany, but on scary...open Philippine roads

"To Iori Suzuki of Team A Motorsports, the group behind the event, the Tänaybürgring is “a homage to the once famous rally stages of the Philippines.” With a seemingly endless sea of traffic in Metro Manila, it’s hard to imagine that such amazing roads are but a couple dozen kilometers away, and that these roads had once hosted rally events.

For this year’s event, Team A decided to really shake things up with a new 343 kilometer route, going counterclockwise. This new route starts with a drive along the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX), and ends at Cafe Katerina, a restaurant overlooking the Sierra Madre mountain range in Tanay, Rizal.

Total driving time? Around 10 to 12 hours. As it says in the event’s official guidelines, “this is no small task, as the route is very long, challenging and exhausting.”
