Michael Waltrip Racing - Car Of Tomorrow build on ESPN

I am loving the show following Mike Waltrips buildup of his 3-car Toyota Camry Nextel Cup NASCAR team.
On today was the edition following the buildup of the "Car of Tomorrow". From the frame, body and aero.
The best for me was the frame build, I tivo'd it and can freeze frame the entire car and look at the structure in awesome detail. Especially in HD

But when they got to the unveiling of the COT at Michigan for testing it was really interesting hearing how difficult it was to set the car up using the new rear ring and the new front splitters.

The splitter issue was most interesting as Mike was saying that on teh straights the Camry was stable as hell, but as soon as he turned the wheel the car just did this massive shake/twist and the car became very unstable in the turns.

What was happening was that the front splitter was becoming seperated from the track in the corner, thus loosing the downforce it is supposed to supply.
This happens with road racing cars as is mentioned in my aerobooks as well.

They were able to make adjustments to get the car newtral into the corners. But this stuff is going to be really interesting to watch as the year goes on.

Why is it that Toyota can supply cars for 3 Nascar teams, but cant seem to finance or supply new WRC cars for 1 WRC team?

ANyways, not to get off topic, show sounds interesting and any new motorsports that the Toyota company is in, will peak my interest. I use to be into Nascar in the early days, but got out of it. I did see the very first Brickyard 400 in 1994.

For the reason their ROI is going to be much higher in NASCAR.

The days of Toyota taking chances and throwing money away are over.
