So... you will have a bit of MR2 bumper in the front end !! lol

I recognize that upper center section from my mr2, can't believe how badly the previous owner had damaged it trying to strip the paint ??

Glad that at least part of it was usable for your project

We still need to meet up and line up your 3mz against my 2gr

Yes that center piece is a portion of your MR2. That's the only piece I needed to make the front end work as an "MK4", and the plastic was absolutely butchered as you said lol!

I'd run my s54 3mz against your e153 2gr any day. But I need a proper fuel control first! I'm rich on idle and lean on WOT right now.

Finally a day off! 50+ hours a week hasn't allowed me to do much lately. Right now I'm spending the time in the freezing cold filling in the gaps on welds I haven't finished. I'm still playing with the front fenders too, they are 95% complete. The last bits to finish are the front edges where it meets the bumper and the under hood mount areas, I'm trying to clean it up so when you pop the hood it looks factory. If I can finish the front fenders the welding is almost done, save for the trunk skin and two minor quarter panel patches to bring the shape back in the right way. Sorry no pictures, this stuff is boring right now I should say though, I'm super excited to get to the bodywork, it's the only thing that pushes me through the slog of welding and grinding.

I've been trimming the interior of the front fenders today. I'm trying to prep for bodywork on these at the same time as the hood.

Hey sorry guys, I wish life wasn't so tough sometimes but you just gotta press on. Thankfully I've got the 3mz '91 to placate me at the moment.

Re-bodying this car has become a monumental task. Welding everything on is easy, planning takes time. Now that both of those are done, the prepping for bodywork is 10x as time consuming. I've been picking away at it here and there, starting with the hard stuff first. I'm going to be finishing the rad support area in the next two weeks. Seam sealer, fibreglass, bondo, primer.... all the good stuff. I feel like my vision is finally taking shape, although it's hard to update the thread when it looks like I've done nothing :S It's hot out and spending time behind a grinding shield and in long sleeves makes it even more tiring. The good news is that the rad support is the most complicated part of the modifications, so I'm hoping to just slide down to the finish line after this. Fingers crossed for paint by the end of the year.

Anyways today I took a small picture of the rad airflow. This all connects with the hood vent (with nice panel gaps and rubberized weatherstripping) and should have the right negative pressure to pull heat away from the radiator. I've got a lot more free time coming up and I don't plan on working on "underbody" areas much longer.

Is it just me or are the pics not working for anyone else?

The pics are gone, for good probably, unless the OP restores them somehow. See the thread about Photobucket.

I'm just realizing this now, sorry guys. WTF am I supposed to do when all my threads link to the one account on photobucket? That site wants $400 a year for third party hosting! Anyone have any options?

Now continuing a thread without pictures, the entire rad support has been seam sealed, primed, and will soon be prepped for paint. Horray! Here's a picture... oh wait... nevermind.

Garage
In the mean time you can still post a link to a picture from photobucket. A lot of people are on Flickr, or just host themselves for far cheaper than what photobucket wants.
