I'd love to. If there was a market for these (at a tempting price) I'd do this for a living in a heartbeat. I guess after I finish this one and put a few people behind the wheel, youtube it all, and blog the hell out of it.....Who knows? I'm positive that anyone who drives it will want one. After that, it's a matter of getting interested people with $ to drive it. Anybody?

She's hanging in the garage waiting for me to get through building another project I'm building as a marketing piece for my new custom car business. Hopefully I'll get that one done before SEMA this year so I can use it to draw business, & then get the MR2 finished for me! I'd use it for SEMA if I thought that there was enough of a market for V8 MR2's. It may yet help draw a few customers, but the muscle car market is much larger. I'm definitely eager to get my 2 finished & will post updates as I make progress.

nahhhhhh... you will have this welded up and bolted down by next week, axle combo done by the week after.. exhaust fabbed up and bolted down 2 weeks after that.. then ill give you 3 weeks on the harness and all wiring.. at that point you can plug up a stock ecu to get it to turn over then swap it out for a EMS. you can even do a jumper harness from the stock harness to the ECU of your choice.

I have faith in you.. you should too..

I have plenty of confidence in my ability to get it finished. I'm just keeping it on the back burner in order to focus on building my business first. Sucks to wait, but the business is going to pay the bills as well as for more upgrades on my 2!

Once this is all done and fine tuned, you think and LS9 would fit? Tranny probably wouldn't like it too much. An LS7 would be bad ass too.

The trans wouldn't last long with more than about 450 hp. If I had one built to take up to 6-700, then I would just build the LS4 block to those power levels rather than try to make a different LS engine work in it's place. An LS4 already comes with LS6 heads, so maybe opened up a little with bigger valves & better springs combined with a more aggressive cam + bored & stroked w/forged internals (+ a few lbs of boost) would make at least double the stock power levels. That also assumes the stock intake manifold has been taken out & shot, with an LS6 or aftermarket manifold in it's place. I've got an LQ4 manifold on it now since I had read that it flows the same as an LS6 manifold (only uglier). The dyno runs I plan on doing will tell the truth there.

Me too! I'm getting ready to get back under the car this month to finish the mounts & measure for axles. I'll take loads of pictures of everything as well as describe it all when I post them here.

The tires are Dunlop Direzza Sport Z1 Star Specs (super sticky). I'll hopefully put them on this week when I get the 2 back up in the air to start on the new sub frame. I'll be back on here with pictures afterwards.

Hey all! Been busy with the kids & everybody else's projects. I'll be getting back on track with my own projects this winter, starting with my 2. As soon as I'm back under it, I'll for sure post about it with pictures. I'm anxious to get her driving! That rear suspension redesign is daunting, but I'll tackle it this winter & have it together in time for the sunshine!

If, by any chance, you decide to abort this project, let me know. For the right price I'd be tempted to take it off your hands. The world needs more LS4 SW20 swaps, particularly if it could be turned into a Gouky-style kit.

From what you've experienced so far with cutting/trimming/mounting, what are the biggest obstacles to someone taking on that kind of project?
