I actually enter the time and date into this unit....

Now all i have to do is get her up to 88mph.
That could be difficult in your V8. Well if you do make it to 88mph make sure you tell the MK3 designers to try harder next time.

Judging by your unit, it took you 2 minutes time he changed the uranium....... impressive

My new caliper decals arrived, painted and attached to the caliper, many thanks to "Idontknow" on Mr2.com for making these, they are the perfect finishing touch for my brake conversion.

Well it was a huge day for me, 2 years into the build and a ton of time and money, Jay came over and helped me out for the day, cheers mate! and the Mk1 V8 officially moved under its own steam, just a few feet forward and back to check clutch operation....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nl8D3wpdwpY

Apologies in advance if anyone is expecting a mad burnout video, that is not going to happen today, we just wanted to start off slowly and build up over the next few weeks to the mad doughnuts and burnouts. For now i needed to be 100% sure everything is working and start debugging any faults.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PRmTxEA6GU

The car drives effortlessly, no throttle needed at all to move it, just lift the clutch, there is so much torque , this thing is crazy.

More trundling about....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDKk8qYvTao

Jay and i stopped filming to give the car a little squirt, we knew the bonnet catch was not on the car, we both knew we could only do 5mph, but in a moment of sheer madness i forgot all about it and i mashed the pedal and the bonnet flew up and cracked my windscreen , i'm not bothered because it was cracked anyway and i have a new one ready to fit and my bonnet was rusty so both were being replaced anyway, but it did scare the ____ out of us! lol

So all in all a very successful days testing, i'm over the moon that i have achieved what some said was not possible, now the hard work begins sorting my bodywork out and finishing off the interior.

Very nice Paul and congrats. That thing is going to be carazy fun when you get it all buttoned up and broken in. Have fun and don't kill yourself in it. I am very jealous.

i like the gauge cluster layout, but i dont think the rings really flow with the square gauges. Just my opinion.

oh and have i said that i think you build some of the most badass mk1s out there?

Thanks! I know what you mean about the square gauges, but there was nothing else on the market that did the same job, i might change the layout though...

And We like it! *sips from a BPA free mug with expensive name brand columbian coffee made from hydrolyzed decaffeinated coffee crystals.*

lol jk I'm from nor cal tho! SF baby. just as expensive as LA with twice the being depressed and no chance of meeting anyone famous!

Lol I did exaggerate. However, where I'm from you couldn't dream of a shop that big. with land around it to make noise! he can have like 60 cars there and He would have plenty of space.

Paul, when I visit my relatives in England, Scotland and Ireland give me a tour? pwease? haha

Lol! My friend called shotgun once when i was driving my 2. I told him:

A) it's just you and me
and
B) the car has only two seats. :P

Paul, I am currently saving up for a decent three country trip for me and my girl, so when it comes together I will certainly contact you. I have to see one of these huge Brit meets i see in the magazine.
