The FR-S isn't all about speed. Although since it is the top car at Scion it should be the fastest. I read a while back about a 2nd gen Tc being put on a dyno. The first few runs it put down about what is expected based on it factory hp rating. After cooling, they ran the car again an it laid down 16 or 18 hp more than the early runs. The crew was kinda weirded out by it so they ran it again with the same output. I don't remember the exact numbers, but based on the at wheels numbers they saw, it equated to something like 216 or so hp at the crank. The only thing the crew could come up with to explain was that maybe the ecu has some kind of fuzzy logic where it learns what the drivers wants and retunes itself accordingly. I posted this before and the basic response was bs. lol. It does seem that most new engines are pretty choked off from the factory so they pick up pretty healthy gains when uncorked and/or retuned. Based on weight and overall power, the new Tc should move pretty good considering. Especially with much lighter wheels and being uncorked.

depending on auto or 6 speed, i heard 158-165. My girls badges are black toyota emblems. We replaced the tc with the red gts from the celicas.

Thats with the sweet heavy 18s too. Was it a hub dyno? Yeah, 3k curb @160 = it can keep/beat the .is250 and x runner

I doubt if they come out with another mr2 it will be cheap. The MK2 turbo optioned out cost 24k least that's what my sticker was in 1991. The MK3 Spyder out the door price with tax and leather and such cost about 34 in 03. For a new MK4 I see the price hitting 38 out the door easy.

I don't remember MK3s having that high of an MSRP. The highest MSRP I remember seeing for a loaded MK2 turbo, ttop, leather, 5spd, etc in 1995 was $34,000.

Toyota very well could build one for cheap, they will just choose not too.

I was told 45k for a decked out 95. Oh and it being the last one too in socal.:-).

That is even more ludicrous than what I saw. The one I saw had no "adjusted market value" added to it. Maybe yours did. I also remember the first MK4 Supra twin turbos listed for $50k and the one my local dealer had had an additional $20k added under the "adjusted market value" banner. $70k for a '95 Supra turbo! crazy. I think it was the very next year when Toyota dropped MK4 prices considerably. turbos went down to $40k.

Ironically, a 1995 Supra can still sell for around 45 grand, depending on mileage and options. At least that's what I have seen on CL and fleabay.
I wish our turbos held their value that well!
