Same here, it seems Im the only MK1 owner that has taste.

Ive seen atrocities made to MK1s with cheap parts.

Also, rich kids over here also drive newer stuff, but mostly pickups and they think they are ''Awesome''

Regarding the Scion its a super commercial car:

1) Cost cutting car
2) Marketing name and ads

It lost the Japanese purpose that I feel and see when I buy OEM parts and change them on my car.

I hope it does come out as a scion, at least it would make it easy to purchase one over going through the normal dealer BS since they are pure price which makes purchasing a fantastic experience. Cannot wait to see what this car ends up being when in production!

what we go coming out these days the gtr r35 the new evo 10 there the only cars from this era id want over the older cars
i blame health and safty and eco freaks why cant they all just go fcuk themselves why cant manufacturers stop being bitches and make proper cars like the used to

The IS350 is quick and fast...0-60 in 4.7-4.9 seconds and the 1/4 mile in low 13's consistently due to the auto tranny.

If you don't mind having an auto, it's a helluva good car. Most of us on the Club Lexus forum are installing the F sport rear bar and installing some springs to make the handling more BMW like. There isn't a whole lot available to increase powerwise, maybe 10-15 at the wheels max. I got my IS350 without nav for 38k out the door which is less (comparing money to 1991 value) than what I paid for my MR2 back in 91.

Seems I read somewhere the ft86 is going to go to subaru solely. And won't go to Toyota. It will use a new chain drive flat 4.

A while ago I saw a guy who must've been in his seventies driving a beautiful Twin-Turbo Supra MKIV in my neighborhood, and my first thought was how funny it looked, and what a waste. Then MY SECOND thought was, "Hey, eventually that's gonna be ME!"

Canada never got it badged as a Toyota, it's been the FR-S or the BRZ here, no GT-86.

It's badged as a Scion FR-S in all of North America, and badges as a Toyota 86 on the other continents. It's also of course a Subaru BRZ everywhere.

Technically it's called the Toyota "GT86" in all the European countries, and the Toyota "86" in Japan and most Asian countries, as well as New Zealand and Australia. North America gets the Scion FR-S name designation.

Yeah, it took me awhile to get over the Scion name when they first announced it was going to be a Scion here. I did get over it though, lol.

Seeing as the car is Subaru, I would buy the subaru version for sure. That way at least when I take it in for service the techs know what they are doing.

Plus I just don't think I could be seen in a Scion. Maybe if they release the rumored supra and it is truly a worthy supra replacement Scion will actually get some street cred back.

I am still alive, just busy with life. Still got the MR2 sitting the in driveway. Someday it will be back on the road. When that will be only God knows. It will be really fast when it is though.

Yeah, I do like the Subaru version at lot...plus when I was in having a recall performed on my wife's Toyota, even the techs and service department at Toyota readily admit that the FR-S is a Subaru (not like there is any hiding it). It's hard to get past the stigma of the Scion crowd. It's a decent looking car though with the right wheels and stance. Wish it came on boost from the factory. Hopefully Subaru will cure that soon.
