I did this mod on my 93 turbo in which the auto power window down function never work since I brought the car back in 2002. The driver side window will go up and down but never auto down. Hey what do I have to loose except for 53 cents for the diode, 15 minutes and some desoldering and soldering practices. I have not done that type of desoldering and soldering since college days. The 1N4003 diode from radio shack fit very nicely on the circuit and I was able to solder the diode on the ?correct? side of the board. I heat the diodes wire with the soldering iron then apply the solder to the diode wire near to the base of the hole on the circuit board. Afterward I snipped the diode wire above the solder. Now I have a driver window switch that auto up but doesn?t auto down.

Desoldering was the difficult part of this project for me. I end up having to dig out the desoldering iron. My desoldering iron has an attached desoldering bulb to suck the melted solder that made the desoldered holes very neat and clean. My first attempt to desolder the board with the soldering iron was messy and sloppy.

Is there a way? Yes, it's electronics, so if you want to invest the time and research into how to make it work, then it is possible.

Is it as easy as the process to do the driver's side? No.

Has anyone successfully gotten the passenger side to work the same way? Not that I'm aware of.

Justa side note on this mod. Seems the JDM cars come with the function operational while the US ones do not. Not sure why this is but may be related to locking T-tops which have to be removed with a key while stationary.

I can't see the logic in having the passengers side work in auto mode as they generally have a free hand unless you transport people who have both hands busy with other things.

There is a way to do it. I've had it on my SW20 for a while (2 years I think) and never had a problem with it. It work the passengers window with the drivers switch, but has a second switch to revert it to stock operation.

All you need is a switch (DPDT), some six core wire and a dremel tool. The basic idea is to cut the tracks for the passenger controls and join them to the drivers side. You use the drivers side switch to control both sides and the dpdt switch to put it back on the normal switch. I did all the connections inside the switch, with the dpdt switch inside the door handle.

Look at page BE-68. What I did was cut the track for pin 7, connect the right (out) to the COM1, the left (in) to ON1-1 and solder the track for pin 4 to ON1-2. Then similar for pin 10, right (out) to COM2, left (in) to ON2-1 and pin 10 to ON2-2. Use enough wire between the joins and the dpdt switch to put the switch where you want.

DPDT- reference
ON1-1 ON2-1
COM1 COM2
ON1-2 ON2-2

Oh forgot to mention.

That is the way I did it on my car. If you do it, something might go wrong and you might kill things on your car. So you might want to try it on a spare drivers side switch.

I also took mines all apart and I placed toguether the window lock switch and everything else including the long leads spring behind that button, and the 3 regular springs where they belong, and placed everything back toguether. and tested all the buttons and made sure they clicked before installing them on the car, and the drivers side goes up and down fully auto or manually which is great, but now the passanger side doesn't work... is there a separate fuse for the passanger side? maybe I burnt a component from the board? anyone knows what could it be? or should I just buy another module?....or custom make my own?

If you had to deal with springs, I think you probably took apart too much. You may have the window lock switch stuck in the down position, even if the lock button is up
