can i get these 1N4003, 1N4005, and 1N5404 diodes from radioshack? Are the part numbers correct so that i can go in and say, "hey, i need a diode, part # 1N4003, 1N4005, or 1N5404."

I really want atleast the autodown function for the passenger side. Anyone know how to do it? Is it possible just to get another AUTO window switch and swap them or what? I know when i drove a GS300, all the windows in the car were auto up and down! it kicked so much ass.

dont' bother the associates... they have a bin in the back with all the electrical components... go there and look for yourself... working in retail myself, i really hate it when people ask for associates to solve problems or locate things that are in plain sight...

just driver's side.... the passenger's side would require much more modification....

DEI makes a 'window module' that costs retail 99.99 i believe [maybe a little more than you would like to pay..] .. if you know someone that works in a Best Buy.. you can get it for around 26$ .. it will connect to any aftermarket alarm that has auxillary outputs.... you can put your windows up/down with your remote, they auto roll up when armed, and it also allows for one touch operation on both windows from the switches. you can also wire it so that the pass switch also has one touch.

Perfect. My brother works at Best Buy. But, I don't know anything about wiring alarm parts. Expect more questioning later.

to do the auto-up/down on the passenger side window switch, you would need to make your own circuit, and also find a donor auto switch, cut the whole switch out, and try to make it work with a circuit. anyone know what the circuit is like for the auto windows, and how the switch itself works?

Wow, I'm surprised to see this thread considering I've been gone three weeks! I'm glad everyone is using this information

The driver's window switch is a five-position switch from what I remember. To give the passenger's side auto-up and -down functions, you would have to install a new switch (or two, if you intend to have it functional on their side and on the driver's passenger switch) and create a new circuit. You can buy modules as the other guys were talking about if you are willing to fork out the money or have a good contact.

Gordaen thanks for the write up.... i just sent you and Valerio an email with praises...

this mod is completely awesome and totally seamless... you'd never know our car didn't have this function straight out of the factory!! it was my first time soldering and that was the most difficult part of the operation... take your time and you'lll have an awesome *UP*grade

Does this only work on the SW20's? Or are the AW11 switches similar in deisgn, the circuit board that is?

BTW..

Take the time to unsolder the board (4 connections) and do it 100% complete. It took me a total of 15 minutes from beginning to end. And even though nobody sees it, it piece of mind in my head.

Also gave me time to clean up all the "gook" in the switches. For cutting the "nubbins" off the I heated up an Xacto knife and sliced through it like butter. To me, it seemed I had much better control for a more even cut.

And I think it was the liability that caused them not to deliver this in the USDM...to many "sue" happy people with no common sense expecting others to think for them.

Its strange, on my 93 Altima, it had auto down, but no auto up. But people figured out that the switch had OEM capability with auto up wired in and everything. All we had to do was cut a tab on the button that prevented it from being pushed up (it was a separate button for auto and regular windows).
