I was wondering if anyone knew if the ARP extended studs could be installed on the rear without removing the hub? I'm looking to get the 59mm ones with the speed nose from twosrus as opposed to the normal 66mm ones without the speed nose.
So you didn't have to pull the spindle and destroy the wheel bearing then correct? Just hit the old ones out and there's enough clearance on hub get them in the hole?
Yes, it's very easy. Rotate the hub until the stud lines up with the hole in the back, beat it out with a hammer, insert the new one and use a lug nut to install it.
If you angle it correctly, it will go in fine. I've also done it without removing anything (although it's safer to remove caliper/rotor). The only ones that might have trouble are the 3" ones. I used the 2.5" H&R studs.
I can confirm that the front and rears are super easy to replace. I just installed front and rear ARP IS300 studs on my SW last weekend. 3lb sledged them out, electric impact gun with a lugnut and some washers to pull the studs into the hubs. Take the calipers and rotors off, it only takes an extra 2 minutes and makes it way easier.
