Intake manifold? Have it hot tanked. Don't do a bead blast of abrasive blast unless you are sure the abrasive media can be removed 100%, it can do some bad things to your engine. IF, you want to do it yourself there are several chemicals out there that brighten aluminum. Look for AC condenser cleaner/brightener, it can give good results. To get the big stuff off use a stiff bristle brush and a good soap and hot water. I would never suggest using what I use.
I always mention the smog stuff if I don't know for sure where you are. Here in Cali the smog Nazis are the worst. Our constabulary have no clue, so they just say it's ALL illegal. The stories I could tell you. Like the "Let me see your engine" episode and he insisted I open the frunk.
