Were about a month away from having the car running. Me and the CNC have had some late intimate nights together, but its worth it. We have high expectations for this car.

Our goal was to have the car finished by February 1st, but we moved buildings and that set us a little behind. Hoping to have it finished before March.

Yes they do. That is very true. But we are a first year team and our school JUST bought us a tig welder after we threatened to buy it using our own money and not allow anyone but our team to use it. So a CNC would take an act of congress for our school to acquire. Hopefully after we prove ourselves (complete a comp) the school will be more inclined to provide better equipment to assist us. Hell we don't even have rain tires yet...

Honestly, you could probably go buy some all seasons to run as rain tires if you absolutely couldn't afford a set of racing rain tires.

But best of luck to you guys with that, thankfully we have a pretty decent amount of support from the university (for most things) just because we have been around for so long and the fact that the college of engineering LOVES to use us as a huge promotion for themselves.

We need to test our dry sump, finish intake mani (mostly done), solve a couple of coolant leaks, and make our manual clutch cable... You guys have a body on already? Or are you just riding skinless for now?

Testing body is made but not on the car yet...It's not important so we can run without it for a while.

Hopefully you guys can get the car going within the next few weeks, especially being a first year team it's incredibly important to get your drivers comfortable in the car before going to competition. And obviously to find out all the quirks the car has, as well as get a reliable engine tune and a stable suspension setup.

I did not see it in the rule book exactly, but how much of a requirement is it to have a body. Just asking in case we are cutting it too close and I have to bring plastic wrap, tape and cardboard.

It's required. There are only allowed to be holes to allow suspension to pass through and move. The floor has to be closed out also all the way to the front bulkhead, maximum opening in the floor of 1/8" except for the transponder.
