Yeah we do look like we are starting a slight descent downwards but hopefully we can get back in the running. I dont about Detriot as i havent paid much attention to the season. I know that we got the award for the fastest time on the Skid Pad but i dont know any info about the DQ.

You guys have a badass car. I wish it would have run better in LA this year, I was really hoping to see it. I stopped by to check it out over spring break when I was visiting my mom in Avila Beach. I was in charge of the drivetrain in 2008 & 2009 and had wanted to try a solid axle design for our 09 car, but it got vetoed by the higher-ups. It is certainly a valid design strategy, but very few teams have tried it. Anyways, looking forward to seeing the '10 car in LA next year.

Thanks, we're going to Detroit this year instead. We decided to fix the problems on the car (brakes, engine mounts) and we just recently snapped the lower steering rod/control arm so we gotta beef that up. We're also getting stuff together for testing. They didn't have any testing time before comp so they want to get lots of test time this year. Are you guys going to Detroit or just LA?

I graduated so I'm not sure what they're doing this year. We are partnering with a German university, so I imagine they'll go to Germany again this year as it was clearly the "championship" rather than Detroit. I imagine they'll probably do LA since it's close and then Germany again. I'll probably go to the LA competition since I have friends and family down there.

It's not all it's cracked up to be. Your social life goes to zero, your sleep goes to zero, your grades go down(not quite to zero, but pretty close)..... And for some reason I'm still on the team. I think FSAE can very accurately be compared to crack or crystal meth.... You know it's bad for you, but you just can't get away from it.

That is our extremely bare chassis about 2 months ago. Nothing more current.

Powder speaks the truth, although my sleep and grades haven't declined too much. I put in roughly 25hrs a week building the car. Sole tig welder of the vehicle and one of the few that actually fabricate in general, but its fun.
