New Fuel Rail

Finally getting back to work on my MK1 MR2 S/C kitcar project,

The previous owner painted the fuel rail and got paint INSIDE the fuel rail! (I took the pressure regulator off and there is paint overspray inside).

I'm gonna take it all apart and clean it, but while I'm at it,
does anyone sell a replacement / new fuel rail?

Ok, got the fuel rail off,

Now i'm gonna really carefully clean it and then have it powdercoated

Here is an example I found online, apparently powdercoating a fuel rail is no prob (as long as all the mating surfaces and holes are not powercoated)

Upon inspecting the fuel rail, its pretty pitted in a few spots,

Does anyone know where I can get a new fuel rail?

Its for my 89 MR2 S/C

Thanks!

I have an S/C fuel rail somewhere around here. I'll look and get back if it's in good condition.

Shouldn't your gaskets seal those small random pits? A very thin "skim" of JB Weld and a light sanding should get those small pits under control.... assuming they are an actual problem.

Hi SirDeuce,

Yes, please PM me if you have a fuel rail available.

I'm not sure how JB weld and gas get along, I assume the mating surface has to be perfectly flat, as the copper washer meets against it, and there is not much give in copper.

SirDeuce, I look forward to if you have that part available.

Thanks!

I don't recommend improvising repairs in the high pressure side of the fuel system. If it doesn't work, you can get a fireball.

Wow,
Congrats

No stress, let me know if you find it.

If you can't find it, there is one on Ebay right now, which looks in great shape, I could just buy that one

I look forward to your reply
