Does your converter harness do the 2 plug ECUs as well?

yeah, the converter adapts my 5 plug car harness to fit a 2 plug ECU for testing:

Great news guys,

I have the first 2010 and earlier 2-plug ECU modified with the following changes:

-7200 RPM rev limiter
-automatic trans DTCs removed
-cat & evap DTCs removed
-immobilizer removed

There's no need to tweak the vvti target tables on this one, they don't roll off at the top and they have that extra power at the bottom that i'll eventually figure out how to carry back to the other ECU.

I need to take stock of the 2 plug ECUs i have here to determine how many can be cloned before waiting for more to come and i also need to get a few more parts to resemble these properly. i need some good thermal paste and some white RTV to seal them back up.

Also, the extra work involved in disassembly and proper reassembly of these 2 plug ECUs will require a slightly higher price for these. I will time myself modifying the first batch to set the price appropriately.

I'd expect these to go on sale sometime next week.

So have you found many differences between the RAV4 tune and the TRD one?

And which tune will you be basing your 2 plug programming on?

Gouky, do you think there is power to be tapped from the 2gr from say fine tuning the maps? or do you think its not worth it, I ask cause the links with the lexus 2gr seems to gain 10-15hp from their fine tuning. Not sure, but I thought the 2gr was already pretty efficient.

Did you use cloning to remove the immobilizer or just altering the existing program? I ask this because my cruise control only worked with the 2wd ecu I sent you. Ive tried 3 other ecu and none of them worked. Did you ever find anything on the speed limiter?

I haven't spent much time comparing the maps. the TRD has completely different map row/column counts on the few tables I've found so it isn't a very straightforward comparaison.

for example, many of the tables that have load as one axis on the TRD will use these values:
20 30 40 50 60 70 80 90 100 110 120 130 140 150 159

where the others use:
20 30 40 50 60 70 80 90 100

granted, most of these tables are smooth enough you can still fit a supercharged tune in there, it'll just have less resolution.

There's likely a couple HP available by going richer at the top to be able to throw a little more timing in, but it would have a significant effect on fuel economy in the name of claiming 5-10hp.

but before i can even try it to see if it is worth it i need to find some more of the tables. i haven't found the base AFR target table yet.

For the highlander and rav4 i'm just cloning. for the TRD i will have to figure out where the program needs to be altered since it has no non immobilizer version.

I haven't tried out the cruise control on this one, it's certainly something i can and should test, i'll try to get around to it sometime next week.

My ecu works with cruise, you can use it as the cloner.

No immobilizer, 2wd, rav4, 2006. That was everything I needed for my cruise to work.

Ok, scratch that guys, the rav4 i cloned is actually the 2WD one i got from donteatbugs. so cruise is known to work on this guy.

interestingly, the extra torque isn't a 2wd/awd thing then because the vvti tables are the same on here as the awd one.

Awesome work Gouky!! Stupid question...Will you only be using a 5 plug harness for these or Will you at some point look into using a 2 plug harness as well?

Of course I would have a 2 plug harness....BOOO!!

If you like I can send you my harness for testing but knowing my luck it would almost be cheaper to find a cheap 5 plug harness though.

So i do have a bit of a problem, I've been shopping around for rav4 cores and they are a fair bit more expensive. I think it's because they seem to get damaged in an accident much easier so there's a much lower supply out there.

So can you guys dig in your closets? I'd like to buy all the 2010 and lower rav4 cores i can find. especially ones with good connectors but i'll buy ones with bad connectors also for an appropriate price.

Car-part.com buy all the ecus you want, they seem to hover around $100 though.

yeah, i noticed that. and the disadvantage with those is you can't see the connector before purchasing them. on stuff like this i find that e-bay works best so you can see exactly what you're buying and the price is comparable.

It's not the end of the world, i'll just have to set the core price accordingly. it's a core after all so you can just return your old ecu and it does not affect the price.

I'd be happy to buy ECUs outright from you guys or as partial payment.

At this point i'm thinking I'll buy any i can for $100 and set the core charge to $150 to encourage core returns.

but the long term solution since many people want to be able to buy an ECU outright is to get the camry no immobilizer solution working. those are more available for cheaper.

Alright, I've added the 2-plug ECUs to the web store (frankensteinmotorworks.com). The only in stock option currently is the one where you send in a core ahead. The exchange product will be available as soon as i get the first batch of these done.

I made a decision for the moment to only sell ECUs with a connector that is intact. This may change in the future and the core policy will be altered at that point.

Do the two plug ECU's include Australian ECU's?

If so I am very interested!

Cheers,
