Two speaker questions '03 Spyder

I removed my door panels on my 2003 MR2 Spyder to reupholster the panels and armrest, and it looks like the original cardboard speakers are still there. They sound pretty lousy and I'd really like to replace them.

I would like to replace both the 6.5 inch speakers and the 1 inch tweeters.

Here are my three questions:

1. If I replace the 6.5 inch speakers with 3-way speakers, would that mess up the extra tweeter? (since there is technically a built-in tweeter in the 3-way). The speakers I am looking at are Rockford Fosgate 6.5 inch on Amazon for $34.95.

2. Would I need any special mounting plate for the 6.5 speakers and the tweeter?
I am looking at Rockford Fosgate 1-inch tweeters for $29.99 on Amazon

I am not an audiophile, so I realize that there are probably much better quality speakers out there, but at this point I just want to improve the sound in my MR2.

Is there anything else I need to be aware of before I start replacing these speakers?

Thank you, everybody!

Hi again, everyone,

I just realized that I think my spider has 5.25" speakers. Is this correct?

Can anyone make any recommendations to me about what speakers to consider?

Thank you!
