Sorry you can't see them really well, but this is the only pic of them that I have.

They were in the car when I imported it from Japan 7 years ago, and were the first thing that got removed when it arrived.

That's probably good that they're removed, probably would've broke the vents anyways.

I've decided not to use the 1 DIN storage box/cup holder... I've got a new idea in the works. Kinda sucks because I spent 4 hours sanitizing, lubing and re-assembling it. But the new one's functionality and finish will be better.

Yeah, have you ever forgotten it was there and hit your beverage with your elbow?

Took the words out of my mouth, this is exactly what I have done for 11+ years of sw20 ownership, works perfectly fine!

cans and bottles also wedge between the seat and door, down by the seatbelt quite well

They don't wedge very well when you got OEM Recaros...

Just wondering since it has been a year since anyone posted, has any new cup holder ideas came about? Any vendors making cup holders for our cars yet?

I didnt use the screws. I did glue an 1/8" rubber strip on the plastic side of the holders slot. So far so good.
