Cool, I just bought the Aug. 85 Road & Track.

I have the Jan. '85 Motor Trend and the Feb. '85 Car and Driver(which I didn't see in your gallery)

I've got a pretty good copy of the '86 sales brochure... one thing that looked kinda cool was the '86 accessories or options brochure. Someone had some pics of it, but I've never seen it for sale or really searched for it.

dude, there is like 70 more items that I couldnt get on the photoshow- of which I either dont have pics of, they needed to be sized down or their extension (jpeg, bmp. etc) would not load up onto the photoshow.. plus around 50 items that I know exist (that I continue to search for) and I am sure a lot more that I dont know about.. thats why this would be a good forum..so we all can find out just how much IS out there. Thanks for the support all the "yes voters"

I doubt anyone makes it but have you ever seen a 1/18 scale mkII?

Jon, no man, no such 1/18 exists in either the MKI or MKII- they are available in the MKIII's.
And Hardtop that Mtech is actually a 1/43rd scale and like you said, very detailed

If you dont mind me asking, how much have you put into this collection? Where do you get it, mainly? ebay? Walmart? lol

I think I'm going to get into some of this stuff. I REALLY like that idea for a mold. you can take plaster of paris and mold a car and paint it however you'd like. That's pretty cool. and the micro machines and launcher and track racing. Insane! Nice video.

Thanks for the props dude.. I've spent way too much..like in the thousands.. I know I've paid way more than I've wanted to on some of the rarer items.. I find them mostly on ebay locally.. I also have a friend in Japan and China that look for me- which is where I've gotten the super-scarce stuff.. but they come at a price.. I am working on a part II to that photoshow with items that didnt make it into the first one.. I am also waiting on a shipment from Japan with some really cool items.. stay tuned

What I want is a 94 1:24 scale I can paint black (to look like mine, duh). Oh and if it's got a border front, hells ya. (doubtful there).

What's the secret on finding this scale MR2s? fujimi has a 93 red one. I saw one on ebay for ~$40 shipped. Is this a pretty tight deal?

Man this is such a great idea. I really haven't been on this forum much, being that I'm in school (for Toyota btw) and haven't gotten a MR2, love them though. But I've been milling around trying to find a MKII model for a little bit but haven't spent that much time really trying to find one. Was planning to make a small scale mock up and then apply the way it looks to the real deal. Major props to you and hope you request comes through! Good luck

Scott,
nah man, nothing yet..
==yeah those Diapets are pretty hard to find -even in the Japanese market-and when they do come available they always fetch top dollar. there are three colors available, Black (I got one) white and the rarest- red. the winner got it with the box which is icing on the cake.. Those diecasts are very detailed with every hinged panel opening- lights, doors, lids, etc.. they have a great quality paint job, nice weight to them and even have little springs under the wheels.. a very nice repli-car.

and check these babies out-
RC AW11's
this one is priced a little high.. I got two of them from the "Over Rev" comic/animation series, approximately 1/43 scale
http://cgi.ebay.com/Brilliant-MR2-MK...QQcmdZViewItem

and another red 1/20 MKI that brought in big bucks:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ATCOMI-TOYOTA-MR...QQcmdZViewItem

notice that the red diapet and that red rc were bought by the same guy Wayne.. I wonder if he is on the board.. would love to see his collection-bc those two items alone are impressive.

Here's my cheesy collection of reading material:

The '85 brochure came today. It's a real trip, has some funny captions for a lot of the photos. Really good one to have though, lots of neat info and pics.

The Road & Track magazine is really awesome. It compares the MR2 up against the CRX, X1/9, RX-7, Fiero, and Alfa in a bunch of tests. The MR2 does the best overall in their tests, so that makes the magazine worth owning.

I'll buy about anything with a red 85/86 MR2 on the cover. These are the best I've seen so far.
